Koch & Collaborations: Ronan Summers, The Wild Swans
We live for any opportunity to connect with talented, successful minds across the globe. Here we are delighted to share an interview with Ronan Summers of The Wild Swans who styled our double monk straps with a Samuel Windsor Trench and a Louis Vuitton Holdall.
Why did you establish The Wild Swans?
I established The Wild Swans mainly to share online, my love of fashion and my passion for travelling; having a blog is a truly amazing way to channel my creativity and vision to my readers.
Three words that define your style?
Smart, Unexpected and Expensive
What is the best place you’ve travelled to and why?
I love Hong Kong! It's the most vibrant city in the world, it's a very chaotic place with modern tall skyscrapers, full of heritage and temples but it's also still very connected to nature as it's surrounded by mountains. This allows you to enjoy sight seeing during the day, the best restaurants/food during the evening and the bars at night. Hong Kong also allows you to take a break hiking, away from it all. When it comes to fashion though, Milan is a truly inspirational place with people dressing like they mean business.
What are three things you can’t live without?
I can't live without my laptop, my camera and my home (my dogs and my partner)
What quote do you live by?
It has to be “Never give up on your dreams” in fact, just never give up on things you really believe in.
Describe a typical working day for you.
Somehow there doesn't seem to be a typical working day for me, especially during fashion week! I could be having meetings with PR and brands regarding projects in Central London, or going to fashion houses to see the collections, or I could be editing and answering emails all day and planning a new trip somewhere. Personally, I really like those days when I have to come up with ideas for editorials and deliver a photoshoot, it's really rewarding! But I also REALLY enjoy the chaotic times during Fashion week.
